The Norcal Classic is a 3 day, all outdoor event highlighting fitness, culture and lifestyle in the Northern California region. NCC is the ultimate test for everything under the fitness umbrella. It all starts with an ONLINE QUALIFIER for all divisions to compete from the comfort of their home gym.

Individual

Elite / RX

All individual competitors for the Elite and RX divisions will compete in the same online qualifier. A total of 50 athletes will qualify for the Elite division at the 3-day event in June, pending video submission and validation.

  • 35 spots will be earned through the NCC Online Qualifier.
  • 15 at-large spots are reserved for athletes who have won select competitions and finish in the top 2000 of the CrossFit Quarterfinals.

$90K In Cash Prizes for Elite competitors

The next 50 athletes in the qualifier will be invited to compete in the RX division.  All qualifier backfills for the Elite division will be sorted first before RX invites go out.

Individual

Intermediate

Intermediate is a stand alone division. Perhaps missing only one or two skills from being RX, these athletes will be challenged with tests more technical than Scaled but less than RX.

The top 50 athletes in the intermediate qualifier will be designated for the Intermediate division in June, pending video submission and validation. Intermediate podium will receive sponsored prizes.

Individual

Scaled/Novice

Athletes should select this division if they are traditionally a scaled athlete in the CrossFit Open. All movements and standards will mimic that which you would commonly see in a typical Open competition.

Athletes 1-50 from the scaled category will be invited to compete in the 3 day event in June, pending video submission and validation.
The next 50 will be invited to compete in the Novice division. Both divisions will be eligible for sponsored prizes.

Individual

Age Group (14 - 17, 35 - 60+)

Eight Divisions: 14-15 / 16-17 / 35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60+
Athletes should select this division if their birthday falls before May 29, 2026. No exceptions.

$44K In Cash Prizes For Age Groups

The top 25 athletes from each age group will be invited to compete in the 3 day event in June, pending video submission and validation. Top 10 for teenage divisions. All masters age group division podium finishers will receive cash prizes.  No prize money for teenage athletes.

Team

Elite/RX Pairs

Two same sex athletes will register as a team of 2. Only those athletes will be allowed to participate in the qualifier on behalf of their team. Qualifier workouts will be done as individuals with scores added together.

$35K In Cash Prizes For Pairs

The top 25 Pairs will be invited to compete in the Elite division, the next 25 will be invited to compete in the RX division, pending video submission and validation. Elite division will be awarded cash prizes.

Intermediate Pairs

Two same sex athletes will register as an Intermediate team of 2. Only those athletes will be allowed to participate in the qualifier on behalf of their team. Qualifier workouts will be done as individuals with scores added together.

The top 25 Intermediate Pairs will be invited to compete in the 3 day event in June, pending video submission and validation.

Team

Scaled Pairs

Two same sex athletes will register as a Scaled team of 2. Only those athletes will be allowed to participate in the qualifier on behalf of their team. Qualifier workouts will be done as individuals with scores added together.

The top 25 Scaled Pairs will be invited to compete in the 3 day event in June, pending video submission and validation.

Discovery Park

Discovery Park is the site for the 2026 Northern California Classic. It's home to a network of trails, expansive lawns and river access, and is an ideal location to test the region's fittest athletes. We've updated the map, courses and where the festival will take place.

Please note that this is a County Park that NCC is permitted to use. All trash must be packed out to preserve the natural landscape of the park and ensure its future use. Please bring plenty of water and any shade structures you may need.

A lot is going on, and sometimes you just want that single answered, well answered. Here's some common questions about NCC.

Do Past Champions have to qualify?

If you've won the previous year at NCC, you have an at large invite to the event in that division. Bring the fitness, and defend your spot. Please reach out to Blair or Ben for that registration spot. See Our Past Winners

I will be out of town for online qualifiers, can I submit late?

In fairness to the competition, we must have everyone submit their scores in the same window of time. But being a window, we hope that it can accommodate for everyone's circumstances.

Is there tickets to spectate the event?

Spectator tickets will go on sale in March. Visitors will be able to purchase single and three day passes to come cheer on their favorite athletes. Please remember to be respectful of the athletes and community while at the park.

How many qualifier events are there?

There are 5 qualifier events every year. Visit the "Workouts" tab in the navigation bar to see this years events.

How do I submit scores?

We've partnered with competition corner to be our leaderboard and scoreboard for NCC. It's the same link you registered with, so visit competition corner, and find the Workouts in the dropdown to submit scores.

I want to be sponsor or vendor for NCC?

That's awesome! We hope to have as many local vendors as we can, since the park space is limited we do ask you submit a vendor request for or sponsor form on the "Sponsors" page of the website.
